WE’LL be celebrating Burns Night in our own homes this year due to the pandemic.
But that doesn’t mean we have to miss out on bard-inspired fun.
The National Trust for Scotland is hosting “Burns Big Night In” from Robert Burns’ Cottage in Alloway tomorrow from 7pm.
Radio and television star Edith Bowman will present performances by actors, comedians, musicians, and poets.
On Monday, Invisible Cities – which trains people who have experienced homelessness to become tour guides – will hold an online quiz at 6pm, with questions based around Scottish culture.
Over the past 30 years, the charity has raised more than £1 million at its annual “A Question of Burns” event in Glasgow.
The BBC Scotland channel will broadcast a Burns Night concert starring the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Eddi Reader, and Karen Matheson on Monday at 7pm as part of the Celtic Connections festival.
VisitScotland, the national tourism marketing agency, has also put together resources for Scots who want to mark Burns Night with their household or support bubble at www.visitscotland.com/about/famous-scots/robert-burns/
