Craft Central opens in Dunblane tomorrow

CRAFT Central, a multi-disciplinary arts venue, opens tomorrow in Dunblane.

The new site is also home to the Central Scotland School of Craft (CSSC) and the Central Scotland School of Jewellery (CSSJ), which recently amalgamated.

Together, they have taken over an empty shop on the town’s high street.

Rebecca Wilson runs CSSC, while Jo Pudelko owns CSSJ.

They said: “Craft Central will bring an unparalleled selection of contemporary craft – all made in Scotland by the talented creatives who teach our classes – offline and back to the high street.

“Our friendly and welcoming drop in and shop gallery supports makers from all across the country, while encouraging locals to embrace the ideals of shop local.

“Craft Central will be a one-stop-shop for high-quality jewellery, art prints, handmade ceramics, weaving, mosaics, and much more.”

They added: “Everyone from complete beginners to seasoned crafters can try their hand at spoon carving, make a silver ring in a day, learn new embroidery, tapestry, or printmaking skills, or start their jewellery journey with a term of evening classes.”

Craft Central’s workshop programme is supported by Creative Scotland, while the studio has been renovated with help from Forth Valley Leader, Ikea, and Dulux RePaint.
