North east of Scotland to play host to a festival celebrating gin

The north east of Scotland is getting ready for a celebration of gin.

GIN:NE is being held on February 9 and 10, at Inverurie Town Hall in Aberdeenshire.

Visitors will get to meet the makers of the gins and other drinks, sample their offerings as well as be able to purchase direct from them.

There will also be the Black Bull Bar where they can redeem admission tokens for a full perfect pour of their preferred G&T and the Inverurie Whisky Shop will be on hand to help and supply visitors with even more choices of drinks.

Already, there a large number of exhibitors have signed up, including the Orkney Gin Company, Lone Wolf, GlenWyvis, El:gin, Granite North, Esker Spirits, Badachro Distillery and Bon Accord Soft Drinks.

Inverurie Town Hall will host GIN:NE

Tickets will cost £25 per person per session, with sessions running from 6-10pm on February 9, with the second from noon-4pm on February 10, and also from 6-10pm on the same day.

Each ticket includes admittance to the event for one person, a festival brochure and 10 sample tokens. These tokens can be redeemed for samples (one token) or at the bar for a full measure ‘perfect pour’ (five tokens).

Visitors will be able to purchase more tokens at the festival box Office within the venue during the session.
Visitors will also have access to masterclasses (extra charges apply), as well as information from gin exhibitors and samples from their stands.

There will also be food available.

A spokesman said: ‘We look forward to seeing you at GIN:NE and making this the north east of Scotland’s premier drinks festival.’
