Mango pana cotta is such a delicious dessert

The Firebrick Brasserie in the Scottish Borders has won itself plenty of acclaim in its short life.

Based on Lauder, it is owned by David Haetzman and Amanda Jordan have lived there with their three children for the last 14 years.

In 2015, Firebrick was voted best new restaurant at the Born in the Borders Food and Drink Awards by their customers.

‘We were particularly happy as it is voted for by the public,’ says David. ‘It is good to know that our diners are happy.’

In May the same yearm, Firebrick was also short-listed for Restaurant Newcomer of the Year at the Catering for Scotland awards.

‘To get in the final three for a national award – it was great just to be nominated,’ says David.

With David’s specialities including steak and game, and Amanda’s delicious desserts and French patisserie, this husband and wife team are a perfect pairing.
