Something for everyone in Edinburgh

Ballet, fun for the girls, a farce and an exhibition are taking place in Edinburgh this week.

Here’s our guide to what’s on in the capital this week.

Russian State Ballet of Siberia’s Swan Lake, 23-24 March, Edinburgh Playhouse.

The greatest ballet of all time is brought to life by Tchaikovsky’s iconic score in this jaw-dropping production by one of Russia’s leading ballet companies.

Girls Night Oot!, 25 March, Edinburgh Playhouse.

Gather the girls and join in for a hen night you won’t forget with a retro soundtrack from the 60s to the present. Banterous, Balshy and Bootyliciously good fun, songs include Hot Stuff, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, I’m Every Woman and many more!

Baths to Bobbins.
Celebrating 10 years of weaving in the Infirmary Street Baths, Dovecot will share some memories on the Tapestry Studio Viewing Balcony. The display titled Baths to Bobbins will explore memories of those who attended the Baths, the stories of the old Studio in Corstorphine, the saving of the Infirmary Street building and its conversion to a modern tapestry studio.

Rhinoceros, 23 March-7 April, Lyceum Theatre.

In a sleepy French provincial town, a rhinoceros rampages across the market square. Another crushes someone’s cat. Eugène Ionesco’s classic 1959 play is an uproarious absurdist farce – and a chilling examination of conformism, nationalism, fascism and fundamentalism.
