There’s a new man at the top in the Nevis Range

There’s a new man at the helm of the Nevis Range Mountain Experience in Lochaber.

They have announced the appointment of Rod Pashley as interim chief executive officer.

Nevis Range in Fort William is home to the UK’s only mountain gondola, and has mountain experience for all seasons. This includes activities such as winter snowsports, climbing, mountain biking, high ropes with tree adventure, and the Zoomtrax tubing slide.

Rod said: ‘I’m delighted to be involved in a business that delivers the very best adventure experiences that Scotland has to offer and I look forward to helping Nevis Range on the next leg of their phenomenal journey.’
Rod brings an incredible amount of experience and energy to the role.

His career began in mountaineering taking in three years in Antarctica and 17 years with the Outward Bound Trust as director of training.

Rod’s incredible body of work led to the creation of People Positive, where Rod served as managing director for over 20 years.

Ian ‘Spike’ Sykes, chairman of Nevis Range commented: ‘Rod’s experience, drive and enthusiasm will be a huge asset for us and we are delighted to welcome him to the Nevis Range family.’

Rod added: ‘It’s a really exciting time to Join Nevis Range who are having quite a transformative year recording their highest number of skiers in over 10 years, making significant strides in the mountain bike market through a partnership with Trek bikes.

‘We’re just coming off another successful Mountain Bike World Cup, the redevelopment of our café facilities and the establishment of relationships with a number of Chinese tour operators.

‘There are many plans in progress at Nevis Range to enhance the customer experience and I fully expect that in the near future Nevis Range will be recognised as one of the leading experience centres in Europe.’

Partnered with Trek Bikes, Nevis Range and Trek will work together, unveiling a number of initiatives over the next year, designed to encourage and develop Mountain Biking at all levels at Nevis Range, whilst transforming the reach of the home of the Fort William Mountain Bike World Cup into a globally recognised Trek mountain bike destination.

As a first step Trek has invested in both equipment and content creation at Nevis Range enabling both track development and promotional activity aimed at truly international audience.
