Open party guests could win a £100,000 holiday

Guests at an afterparty for The Open in Carnoustie have the chance to win a luxury £100,000 holiday.

All they have to do is sink a hole in one on Sunday, July 22, at the Hamilton Grand Live – the 147th Open inaugural after party, to win a holiday to the exclusive island Koh Rang Noi in Phuket, Thailand.

Favoured by the rich and famous, one lucky guest will win a week at this much sought after location, by scoring a hole in one on a man-made green.

The exclusive event, which kicks off in style after the last putt has been holed in Carnoustie, is located next to a reservoir where two floating greens have been specially created.

If guests get a hole in one in the green which has been modelled after the 18th hole of Wisconsin’s Whistling Straits, home of the 2020 Ryder Cup, they have a chance to win.

To take part, golfers will pay a fee, which is part of the fundraising to raise money for local lad Garvie Winter who needs £95,000 to afford to try a revolutionary treatment known as Car T-cell therapy available in the US or Italy.

Traditional chemotherapy has not been successful in treating Garvie’s leukaemia.

John Sutherland, director of Lifestyle & Concierge for the ASA Group which manages bookings for Koh Rang Noi, said: ‘Golf and luxury retreats go hand in hand and how better to relax after an energetic Open than to jet off to your own private island.

‘Koh Rang Noi offers exclusivity like no other. What a great way to raise funds for Garvie and I’m sure it will be a popular attraction as the professionals and amateurs alike compete for the coveted luxury holiday prize.’

The event is the first of its kind in Scotland.

The exclusive party for 500 guests has attracted high net worth individuals who have a love of golf and enjoy a good party.

Sponsors include Hamilton Grand, Hippodrome Casino, Bacardi, UWA, 71 Brewing, NB Spirits, Curious Cork Imports, John Deere, Adam Newth from Michelin-recommend Tayberry restaurant and there will be a charity auction. Media partner is Indigo.
