All set for Easter fun at Blair Castle and Gardens

Blair Castle and Gardens has a cracking variety of activities for all the family to enjoy over the Easter weekend when it re-opens its doors to the public on Good Friday.

The Perthshire castle – which appears in ITV’s Victoria – has some of egg-citing highlights in store during the holidays.

These include –

Easter Trail: Friday 30 March – Monday 2 April. An Easter trail will take place at the castle during the long bank holiday weekend. Free of charge with Castle entry, over 200 chocolate eggs have been hidden in the castle for children to find throughout the weekend.

Visit the historic location on Easter Sunday and join in the family fun by decorating an egg with your little ones in the Banvie Hall, before rolling begins at 11am. With three age categories, there are lots of chocolate prizes to be won.

The Super Egg Hunt: Saturday 31 March 2-3pm. Enjoy some family entertainment by taking part in the ‘Super Egg Hunt’. A fun competition to make boats and wings for eggs, children are invited to bring along a hard-boiled egg for an afternoon of making them magically fly and float. Meeting at the Blair Atholl Information Centre, families can join in for only £3 per child.

Easter Sunday Afternoon Tea in the Ballroom: Sunday 1 April. After working up an appetite taking part in the Easter egg-citement, what better way to finish off the day than by enjoying a sumptuous afternoon tea in the ballroom. This specially designed menu features a selection of freshly baked treats, mini sandwiches, and homemade scones with jam and cream.
Costing just £20 per adult and £11 per child, entrance to Blair Castle is also included with Afternoon Tea. Booking is essential and can be arranged by contacting 01796 481 207.

Easter Treasure Hunt: Wednesday 4 April 2–3pm. Following the chocolate fuelled weekend, there will be more fun and excitement with the Castle’s annual treasure hunt. Children and parents can follow the clues to find the Easter treasure hidden in the woods of the Estate. At only £2 per child, Atholl Estates’ Easter Treasure Hunt keeps the holiday fun going. Join the Rangers at the Glen Tilt Car Park at 2pm.
