Visitors can see the sights from a new vantage point

Stunning sights from a Scottish castle are set to be revealed to the public this weekend.

The team at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate, on the Queensberry Estate in Dumfries and Galloway, are holding a Hidden Heritage tour later this month from a new perspective, as they grant access to the magnificent castle roof.

The one hour Hidden Heritage tour, held on Sunday 29 July from 2pm, will give visitors the opportunity to see Drumlanrig Castle from a unique viewpoint.

Upon the castle roof, visitors can take in panoramic views of the Queensberry Estate and surrounding area spanning 83,000 acres.

The tour will reveal historical tales and mysteries of the local area and Drumlanrig that have been forgotten or left untold for years.
Claire Oram, castle manager at Drumlanrig Castle and Country Estate, said: ‘Our Hidden Heritage tour is a rare opportunity to learn of local history from the unique location on top of the castle.

‘The castle roof has been refurbished in recent years and we can’t wait to welcome visitors from near and far to take in the picturesque views and uncover some mysteries of Dumfries and Galloway– it’s an exclusive opportunity not to be missed.’

Access to the Hidden Heritage Tour is included in the Estate entry fee but advance booking is essential. This tour is only suitable for visitors aged 16 or older due to health and safety reasons.
