900-year-old castle has been lovingly restored

One of Scotland’s historic castles, the Old Castle of Rowallan, has been fully opened to the public for the first time in nearly 70 years.

Recently refurbished to its former glory by the current owners, the Campbells, the castle is nestled in the heart of the Rowallan estate.

The ancestral home of the Mures and the Campbells, the ruins date back to 1120 and it’s only 30 minutes from Glasgow, in Kilmaurs, East Ayrshire.
