Two new spectacular star-studded shows to hit His Majesty’s Theatre in Aberdeen for first time.
Aberdeen Performing Arts (APA) will welcome both the fashionable, Olivier Award-winning Kinky Boots and Cilla – The Musical to His Majesty’s Theatre for their inaugural runs on the stage, further adding to APA’s strong events calendar for the next two years.
Kinky Boots will strut its way into Aberdeen and take centre stage next year from Tuesday 23 April until Saturday 4 May 2019.
Inspired by true events, this joyous story of Brit grit to high-heeled hit celebrates friendship and change, and will take audiences from a shoe factory floor all the way to the glamorous catwalks of Milan.
The show will include an array of songs created by Grammy and Tony winning pop icon, Cyndi Lauper. Songs such as Raise You Up, Everybody Say Yeah, and Not My Father’s Son will all feature.
As well as Kinky Boots, Cilla – The Musical will also grace the stage of His Majesty’s Theatre later on this year.
Inspired by the wonderful, heart-warming musical adaptation of the critically acclaimed ITV mini-series by BAFTA award winner Jeff Pope, which was based on the early life of the beloved Cilla Black, the show is said to wonderful homage to the national treasure.
Following the story of Priscilla White, an ordinary teenage girl from Liverpool who ends up leading an extraordinary life, the musical showcases her rocky, yet incredible rise to fame.

With an outstanding musical score featuring the ultimate 60’s soundtrack including Cilla’s greatest hits Anyone Who Had, Alfie and Something Tells Me, there’s also an array of music by legendary artists The Beatles, The Mamas and The Papas and many more.
Kara Lily Hayworth, who plays Cilla, secured the role after fighting off thousands of hopefuls in the auditions. This is the first ever musical about the star’s life and Cilla’s son, Robert Willis is the executive producer.
Cilla – The Musical will run from Tuesday 4 September until Saturday 8 September.
