Jazz master Arturo takes audience on a journey

Internationally renowned jazz saxophonist, Arturo Tappin performed a 5 star concert at The Outhouse, demonstrating his all-round professionalism and extraordinary talent on everything from the clarinet to saxophone and flute.

The programme was a musical trip around the Caribbean Islands and took in all-time classics from Acker Bilk to modern jazz.

Thrown into the mix was the chance to win a trip to his native Barbados.

As Arturo says, ‘your chairs are your enemies!’, and it’s certainly hard to resist getting up to dance. Accompanied by his Barbadian trio, this was a musical highlight of the 2018 Festival for me.

He now travels to London for 30 and 31 August. Catch him if you can – his ‘Stranger on the Shore’ is like having warm oil massaged onto aching shoulders.
