New exhibition will highlight Joyce W Cairns’ work

An exhibition of an acclaimed Scots artist’s work is to open this weekend.

The Kilmorack Gallery in Inverness-shire is to show the work of the acclaimed Joyce W Cairns, a painter and printmaker based in Aberdeen.

Joyce is renowned for her magnificent, large-scale figurative compositions exploring human nature and collective memory.

In her latest work, objects from childhood become powerful triggers of remembrance and reflection in the imagination of the viewer.

She has previously displayed hers work in public collections including, Aberdeen University, Robert Gordon University, Strathclyde University, Grampian Hospitals Trust, Perth and Kinross Council and Angus Council.
The official opening takes place this Saturday, 29 September, from 2-6pm.

The exhibition runs until 27 October at Kilmorack Gallery, The Old Kilmorack Church, by Beauly, Inverness-shire.
