Scots tourist attractions given artistic makeovers
Two famous Scottish landmarks have been given a makeover – in the style of famous Spanish artists.
TransPennine Express has reimagined UK landmarks in the style of famous artists and architects, which has seen Edinburgh Castle done in the style of Gaudi, and Glasgow’s Duke of Wellington statue has been given a Dali-esque makeover.
The 12th century Edinburgh Castle is reimagined in the style of Gaudi’s most famous masterpiece, La Sagrada Familia, in Barcelona.

Gaudi’s style is instantly recognisable, using Gothic free flowing shapes and for this picture, the towers and walls of the castle have been revamped, using bright, jewel colours borrowed from Park Güell. The roof of the castle has been inspired by the Casa Batlló building in Barcelona, which is now a museum dedicated to Gaudi’s work.
Meanwhile, Glasgow’s Duke of Wellington statue, which was erected in 1844, has been reimagined in Salvador Dali’s surrealist style.
The Duke’s famous horse has been replaced by an elephant, with spindly legs, while the famous traffic cone has been given a typical Dali spin.
