New Lanark looks wonderful and historic – and even moreso in the festive season.
There’s a lot going on at New Lanark World Heritage Site this festive season, from festive lunches and dinners, to disco party nights, Christmas Carols by Candlelight, Pantomime and special visits from Santa Claus to help light up the eyes of every adult, boy and girl – and now there is even special Christmas Experience for the under-5s.
The New Lanark Christmas Experience is taking place every weekend on the run up to Christmas, including Christmas Eve, and NOW there is also the opportunity for under-5s to come along on Wednesdays too! This is the perfect opportunity for families with young children to enjoy New Lanark’s magical Christmas day out and avoid the busy peak times and queues at the weekends.
The under-5s New Lanark Christmas Experience ticket will include all of the Christmas attractions as well as a Victorian Christmas Tour that does not take place on the weekends.
New Lanark’s magical location, resembling a giant toy factory silently nestled at the foot of the Clyde valley, creates the perfect backdrop for a magical family day out and Christmas festivities for young and old this season.
Visitors will feel like they have arrived in Lapland, as they enjoy their New Lanark Christmas Experience. The ticket includes the Spirit of Christmas Ride, which will take them on a magical journey into Christmas, on a sparkling festive ride. Meet guide Holly, who will tell visitors all about Christmas past and present before visiting Santa’s Grotto and enjoying some Festive arts and crafts. Santa’s elves are also planning some fun activities too.
As part of the festivities, make sure to book this year’s fun-filled pantomime, Beauty And The Beastie, brought to New Lanark by the Arkeen Theatre Company. Based on the classic fairytale, children and adults alike will love this fun tale. Please note that the festive pantomime will not take place on Wednesday dates.
