A Scottish hotel chain has got tails wagging for National Dog’s Day this Sunday, 26 August, as it will offer guests free accommodation for up to two dogs throughout September and November.
The offer applies to three Macdonald Resorts resorts: Macdonald Forest Hills Resort, Aberfoyle; Macdonald Lochanhully Resort, Carrbridge; Macdonald Spey Valley Resort, Aviemore.
It’s welcome news as holidaying can often leave pet owners feeling guilty for having to leave their beloved four-legged companion behind in the care of friends, family or boarding kennels.
With 58% of pet owners choosing their holiday based on the needs of their pets – according to data from market research specialist Mintel – Macdonald Resorts’ latest offer will give owners, and dogs, the freedom to explore the UK this autumn.
Pampered pooches and mucky pups can explore the wonderful landscapes including forests, beautiful beaches and luscious lochs which surround the holiday resorts in Scotland and Wales. For humans, Macdonald’s locations in the UK make for the perfect rural retreat, with hill walking, water sports and even some bird watching available.
The flexible, self-catering lodges give freedom to families of all sizes who may have previously struggled to find the ideal holiday. Leads and treats at the ready, the resorts are an ideal starting point for exploring the local area, be that the bustling local town of Aviemore near Macdonald Spey Valley Resort, the rugged sand dunes of Aberdovey beach a stone’s throw from Macdonald Plas Talgarth Resort, or the banks of Loch Ard at Macdonald Forest Hills Resort.

Macdonald Resorts is offering free accommodation for up to two dogs per family in September 2018, November 2018, and March 2019 at the following resorts: Macdonald Plas Talgarth Resort, Wales; Macdonald Lochanhully Resort, Carrbridge; Macdonald Spey Valley Resort, Aviemore; and Macdonald Forest Hills Resort, Aberfoyle.
