New additions at complex on shores of Loch Tay

A luxury Scottish holiday destination has announced plans to launch new additions to the award-winning water sport and self-catering attraction overlooking the banks of Loch Tay.

Two more attractions – café and pop-up, CakeBox and steam room-style SteamBox – will soon feature at the family-owned Taymouth Marina complex, in Kenmore, Perthshire.

Set in a traditional Ferryman’s Cottage with spectacular views overlooking the loch, CakeBox will serve hot drinks, sweet treats, light lunches and afternoon teas, with local produce a key feature. The venue will also double as a pop-up space, offering private dining and events.

Meanwhile the wellbeing-oriented SteamBox will join the resort’s HotBox, a wood-fired Scandinavian-inspired sauna with glass panels allowing guests to soak up the spectacular views of the loch and mountains at one of Scotland’s most stunning locations. With health and wellness a key focus for the destination, aspen wood has been specifically chosen to line the sauna to promote wellbeing and protect against allergens.

Open to day visitors as well as on-site holidaymakers, Taymouth Marina is a popular destination for water sport enthusiasts, as well as families and couples.

General manager Angus Mackay said: ‘CakeBox will be an ideal spot to grab a bite to eat or relax after a day on the water and trust me, there’s no better location for your morning coffee.’

Perfect for short breaks in the Perthshire countryside, Taymouth Marina boasts luxury self-catering cottages, houses and apartments suitable for families, couples and large groups. As well as accommodation, the lochside destination offers numerous water sport activities for guests and visitors to enjoy – including kayaking, paddle boarding, open-canoes and loch-based inflatables.

Angus added: ‘The addition of the café and the new SteamBox facility will further enhance our visitor experience, offering short and long-stay guests an unforgettable trip of rugged adventure as well as relaxation in the heart of beautiful Perthshire.’

SteamBox will open ahead of the attraction’s summer season. CakeBox is expected to open to the public from mid-April, and will be open Wednesday – Sunday, from 10am until 4pm.
