Hotel chain and airline team up to benefit customers

Two iconic Scottish companies have launched a strategic corporate partnership, aimed at providing benefits for their customers.

Loganair and Macdonald Hotels & Resorts have teamed up to highlight the benefits of their businesses to Scotland, and offering customers special deals.

Loganair’s bear mascot couple Logie and Lotti sealed the deal by making an appearance at the Macdonald Holyrood Hotel, a stylish four-star hotel in the heart of Edinburgh’s historic old town.

The two teddies tried the beds for size, went for lunch and exercised in the gym at the city centre hotel.

Loganair commercial director Kay Ryan said: ‘Macdonald Hotels & Resorts and Loganair are proud Scottish companies which have found success in the rest of the UK and beyond, while continuing to be headquartered in Scotland and employing many hundreds of people.

‘Like us, they have a passion to be the best they can be and to give exemplary service to their customers, as they did with Logie and Lotti today.

‘They have hotels in many of our key locations and destinations, and we know our customers will be delighted with this great inaugural offer of 10% discount in Macdonald Hotels & Resorts for all customers, with an even better 15% off for the 30,000 members of our Clan Loganair frequent flyer programme.

‘We believe this will be the first of many schemes to the mutual benefit of our businesses and our customers, which can be accessed via our website.’

Lyn MacDonald, group marketing director at Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, said: ‘By teaming up with Scotland’s original airline, we are able to introduce the Macdonald Hotels & Resorts’ brand to a whole new audience, while offering exclusive benefits to thousands of Loganair customers.

‘With 48 Macdonald hotels and resorts across the UK, there is so much for people to explore, from the peaceful Scottish Highlands, to bustling city centres such as Manchester and we are excited to be a part of the journey.’

Loganair has commissioned 3000 Logie and Lotti branded Teddy bears which are available to anyone between the ages of two and 11 travelling during July and August.

The inspiration for the giveaway comes from when the airline reunited an eight-year-old girl from Orkney with her lost cuddly toy, flying Teddy over 200 miles from Edinburgh to Kirkwall for a tearful homecoming with his young owner.
