Airds takes Scottish luxury title in Good Hotel Guide

Airds Hotel and Restaurant in Port Appin has been named Scottish Luxury Hotel of the Year in The Good Hotel Guide 2020, published today.

Out of 830 listings in Britain’s leading independent UK hotels guide Airds, on the west coast, is the only Scottish hotel of the 10 elite properties selected for a César Award.

These are the acknowledged Oscars of hotel-keeping and reflect distinctive style and an exceptional standard of hospitality.

According to the Guide: ‘Shaun and Jenny McKivragan’s former ferry inn is a place for indulgence. Bedrooms have designer fabrics, Bulgari toiletries; dinner brings superb West Coast produce. Breakfast is exceptional.’

Named after celebrated hotelier César Ritz, the César Awards are based on visits by a team of experienced inspectors and reports from trusted readers. Hotels cannot pay for inclusion in The Good Hotel Guide and its inspectors do not accept free hospitality.

Airds Hotel is a former ferry inn beside Loch Linnhe at Port Appin, near Oban (Argyll).

Guests can rely on warm hospitality, great comfort, finedining and a wealth of excursions and activities in the magnificent setting on Scotland’s mountainous west coast.
