Get on your bikes for family fun in Millport

There’s a wheely great day out in store for families on Sunday, July 14 at the Millport Heritage Cycle and Bike Festival.

The Heritage Cycle will run between 10am and 4pm (last start time 1pm), beginning and ending in the grounds of the Garrison House.

Cyclists follow the Cumbrae Heritage Trail, collecting puzzle pieces along the way which will enter them into a fantastic prize draw. Top prize on the day is a £2000 voucher for BikePost in Troon, courtesy of Home Energy Scotland, which could cover the costs of an eBike plus all the accessories you need.

Cyclists are encouraged to decorate their bikes for this inclusive event, which is suitable for all ages and abilities.

The Bike Festival runs from noon to 5pm in the grounds of the Garrison House, with a classic bike show, eBike trials, Dr Bike sessions and cycle skills workshops on offer, as well as food and drinks tastings, arts and crafts and more.

Millport Heritage Cycle aims to engage existing and new audiences with local heritage along the Cumbrae Heritage Trail and within Millport Conservation Area in an attractive and active way.

The event is being delivered by Millport CARS in partnership with North Ayrshire Council’s Active Travel and Tourism teams, as well as the Isle of Cumbrae Tourism Association.

The event is free, but you need to register in advance at https://millportheritagecycle.eventbrite.co.uk, where you can also find out more information.
