Shooting ladies do their bit to back a great cause

Scotland’s premier ladies clay shooting club Glad Rags & Cartridge Bags and the Edinburgh branch of the luxury British clothing company teamed up to raise a fantastic £600 for the charity CLAN.

This unique event took place at Raemoir House in Aberdeenshire.

After a morning of clay shooting instruction, the ladies were treated to a Holland Cooper fashion show lunch, hosted by Nadia Cunningham who recently opened Scotland’s much awaited store in Edinburgh.

A raffle was held to raise the funds with the tremendous first prize of a Holland Cooper wrap very kindly donated by Nadia.

Mhairi Morriss, owner of JOMM Events and founder of Glad Rags and Cartridge Bags, said: ‘It was a very special day for us, each year we choose one charity to support, for 2018 CLAN was an obvious choice.

‘Fiona McPherson Aberdeen’s Volunteer Coordinator for CLAN comes to most of our events and we have all been touch by the cruel disease.

‘Sadly, a couple of our ladies have just recently lost a loved one to cancer. We are all delighted that we could help in a small way.

‘CLAN can only carry on doing the amazing work it does through fundraising and donations. Terri Walker was the envy of all as the winner of the beautiful wrap.’

The club is going from strength to strength with the events selling out and new venues joining the already very impressive portfolio.

Mhairi is very excited about their next event, Picnic Like the Queen at Cluny Castle on the 22 April.

She added: ‘It’s a new venue for us, it is where some of the movie The Queen was filmed with Helen Mirren. The castle is spectacular, and the shooting area perfect for our event.

‘The castle is a private home and primarily a wedding venue so I feel very honoured to be invited to hold our event here.

‘Ladies who have never held a gun before to the more experienced shot are all welcome, we supply everything, all you have to bring is you. Fingers crossed we continue with our track record of good weather.’
