A Scottish equestrian centre is highlighting the good work of a young employee

Maddy Attridge, 24, has worked in the Equestrian Centre at the Mains of Taymouth, near Aberfeldy, for nearly two years. Originally from the Isle of Skye, she has been a keen horse rider since the age of 5.

After learning to ride at her local stables, she owned her first horse aged 12.

Following her move to Perth a few years ago, Maddy joined the Equestrian Centre at the 5-star Country Estate and Golf Course in Kenmore. She teaches Stable Management to local children every week and aspires to tutor riding at all levels in the future.

She said: ‘I have always loved horses so I knew I wanted to work with them. It’s nice to be involved with teaching the local school kids and they are all a very enthusiastic bunch.’

The young rider enjoys working with the horses at the stables as they all .have their own little personalities.. She also appreciates that Kenmore is ‘a beautiful part of Scotland and there is lots of really interesting history about the area.’

Kerry Orr, owner of the Equestrian Centre, said that Maddy: ‘is a great addition to our staff here at the Equestrian Centre, and a fine example of a young person keen to work and learn in her chosen industry.’

‘I hope she can maintain a really good career in this industry and I know her love of horses will never leave her. It’s fantastic she shares our enthusiasm for amazing scenery around here.’
