The Colour & Light exhibition at Dovecot presents the skill of the weavers and tufters, in their ability to select and blend colour in yarn to a variety of extraordinary effects. Colour is vital in the work of the many artists who are drawn to working in tapestry – and partnership with Dovecot’s weavers has led to a number of fascinating conversations about colour between artist and artist-weaver, borne out in the tapestries and rugs that result.
A specifically designed sensory programme of events has been created that is integral to the Colour & Light exhibition. The hearing loop and audio described tours, workshops and talks will draw upon those works and objects in the exhibition which have been chosen based on their visual and tactile, multi-sensory impact.
