Ardvreck School celebrating its skiing success

Several Ardvreck pupils raced into podium position at the Scottish Schools Snowsports Association (SSSA) and Scottish Prep Schools Championships (SPS).

Kerr Baxter won gold in the boys under-13 age group and Brooke Baxter scooped gold for the girls under-13 age group at the SPS Championships.

The team also retained the SPS Cup after a very strong performance winning boys/ mixed top team.

Bronze was also won by Callie Baxter in the girls under-11 age group.

Not to be outdone, one of Ardvreck’s Primary aged teams qualified for the SSSA finals next week after some very strong skiing at Glencoe as Lucia Connel and Antoine de Carmoy won silver medals in their categories.

Andy Robertson, head of geography and outdoor pursuits, said: ‘I’m so proud of the way that every one of our children skied, from the experienced racers to the children who were new to competitive ski racing. It was a real privilege to take them to these events and their behaviour, attitude and team spirit were all first class.’
