Space, comfort and style can be found at Aonach Mor

A substantial bespoke architect-design home is now available in the heart of Scotland’s central belt.

Presented for sale by Rettie and Co, Aonach Mor is an exceptionally spacious home, which was thoughtfully designed, by the present owners, to support a most comfortable family lifestyle. Built in 1991, the house was finished to a high specification, incorporating modern conveniences, such as double-glazing and under floor heating, and bespoke aesthetic features, including cornicing and traditional-style fireplaces.

The house itself is centred within a generous plot, with an impressive approach off the leafy residential street. A pair of wrought-iron electric gates open onto a block-paved driveway, which arcs around a formal lawn, towards the house, before returning to a second pair of electric gates onto the street. The driveway is flanked by traditionally-styled street lamps and low-level lighting, and expands at the foot of the house, providing extensive space for car parking.

The striking red-brick façade of Aonach Mor, is set beneath a pan tiled roof and distinguished by leaded window panes and quoins. An impressive stone-pillared porch is set to the centre, sheltering the main entrance.

Storm doors provide access into a traditional vestibule, where a partially-glazed door, flanked by glass panelling, opens into the galleried Hall beyond.

The hall is an inviting formal entrance space, which features a marble fireplace, with living flame gas fire, as well as decorative cornicing. It extends naturally to one-side, leading to the principal reception rooms.

Double doors open into the sumptuous sitting room, which is decorated with cornicing and a handsome timber fireplace, set around a living flame gas fire. A large window overlooks the front of the property, whilst a sliding glass door to rear garden extends across the opposing wall, promoting a through-flow of natural light and enhancing the impression of spaciousness.

Off the hallway there is another large and flexible reception room, currently utilised as a family room. It is appointed with a similar, elegant fireplace and features a wide bay window with an attractive view over the front lawn, which stretches away from the house, in the shelter of mature trees.

The dining room is accessed via a pair of double doors off the hall. It is well-proportioned, affording ample room for a formal dining suite, and is adorned with traditional dado railing, cornicing and a ceiling rose. A large picture window frames an attractive view over the rear garden. There is a practical, adjoining door into the kitchen.
