The volume of property sales within Perthshire has shown significant strength recently, according to property consultancy Galbraith.
Galbraith has published its results for the third quarter of 2018 (1 July to 30 September) showing sales in Perthshire are up by 33 per cent year on year.
The number of properties being brought to the market through Galbraith has also increased, by 57 per cent compared with the same period a year ago.
Emma Chalmers, partner and Head of Agency for Galbraith in Perth believes this reflects increasing confidence among buyers.
She said: ‘Confidence has returned to the market and activity has certainly increased across all price brackets.
‘Rural property with land continues to play a pivotal role within the Perthshire market and remains one of the key attractions for buyers with realistic pricing being key to a marketing campaign.
‘Closing dates have recently made a comeback which reinforces that there is strength in the Perthshire property market.’
Galbraith handles on average the sale of £54m of residential property per quarter on average for Scotland as a whole. The firm’s residential sales are focused primarily on rural and premium residential property.
Emma added: ‘The time taken for sales to conclude has reduced by 35 per cent this quarter compared with 2017, which is part of an underlying positive trend rather than an anomaly. Property viewings have increased by 24 per cent year on year, a further sign of increased activity.’
The number of prospective buyers registering with Galbraith’s Perth office has increased by 44 per cent year on year.
