Both Pitlochry and Blairgowrie provide an excellent range of day to day amenities, as well as secondary schooling. Pitlochry has a train station with mainline connections to Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as a sleeper service to London.

The cities of Dundee and Perth offer a wide array of services and amenities, with Dundee hosting two universities and an airport with regular flights to London Stansted.
