A real twist to whisky firm’s 70th birthday

Family owned Scotch whisky specialist Douglas Laing continues to mark its platinum anniversary – and this time, it’s with a twist.

The Remarkable Regional Malts – With A Twist bottling encompasses single malts from all of Scotland’s whisky producing regions, representing the various brands in the range.

Aged for 10 years, bottled at 48% alcohol strength and offered without colouring or chill-filtration, the resulting whisky reflects the very best of Scotch Malt Whiskies.

Only 5000 bottles have been produced and the specialist packaging has been created to raise a smile and to reflect the ethos of Douglas Laing and its Regional Malts.

The labels are individually numbered while the gift tube panels rotates enabling Big Peat’s iconic bearded face to sit on top of Scallywag’s furry canine body, or to line up the Timorous Beastie’s Mouse body with the Epicurean’s top hatted head.

The company was established by Fred Douglas Laing in 1948. 70 years later, Douglas Laing is owned and run by second and third generation family members.

Fred Laing, chairman, said: ‘Our 70th anniversary has been a big occasion for us and one we continue to enjoy celebrating.

‘This latest limited edition reflects very much our focus and philosophy to release excellent, artisan Scotch whiskies expressing some humour in the process, whilst not taking ourselves too seriously.

‘After all, aligned to quality, Scotch whisky should be fun!’

The Remarkable Regional Malts With A Twist 10 Years Old Limited Edition of 5000 bottles (70cl) will be available from mid-October with an RRP of ÂŁ59.99.
