Recipe gives a new meaning to sole food

The Firebrick Brasserie in the Scottish Borders prides itself on having a stylish, yet family-friendly atmosphere and good quality, affordable food.

It is run by culinary duo David Haetzman and Amanda Jordan, who have lived in Lauder with their three children for the last 12 years.

The Brasserie really is a family affair, with David and Amanda‘s son often called in to do the dishes for extra pocket money.

The emphasis is on exceptional quality, locally sourced and seasonal food. Everything is handmade on site.

‘We wanted the Firebrick to be a family bistro for the local community as well as an affordable foodie destination,’ says David.

‘The Borders has such an amazing natural larder and we have the best local suppliers.’
