Distillery to open its doors for Spirit of Speyside

A new batch of cask finish gin is being released in time for distillery open days during the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival.

Running from 3-5 May, Avva Scottish Gin Cask Finish 55% is now onto Cask 3 and is matured for six months in a first fill bourbon cask from Kentucky.

Made by Jill Brown, master distiller, the spirit from Avva Scottish Gin is hand filled into the bourbon cask to mature for six months to create the unique honey colour and distinct flavour of the Cask Finish.

Moray Distillery Ltd, where Avva Scottish Gin is distilled is not usually open for tours, so the open days as part of the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival give visitors a unique behind the scenes experience to the world of gin and direct access to Jill who will share with them her story and a gin.

Jill Brown, founder at Moray Distillery Ltd, said: ‘It has been really interesting creating our limited edition cask finish gin, it has attracted a lot of attention and new consumers to our brand.

‘Our previous cask gins have all sold out so I am really pleased to have this cask gin available for our open days and looking forward to sharing my distillery with visitors.’

Moray Distillery Ltd was founded by Jill Brown in 2016 and is home to Avva Scottish Gin and Berry Good Liqueurs.

The cask finish gin is also available from select stockists and online. Tickets for the open days are available from the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival website.
