It has been revealed that a new top secret event – brought to you by the organisers of the madcap Whisky Stramash – will feature music from the popular MoonHop DJ’s who will entertain guests with their retro mix of disco, funk and soul.
Details of the event, which will take place in Edinburgh on Friday 22nd May, have remained scarce and most of the specifics will stay a closely guarded secret until the event itself. Even the city centre venue remains a mystery at this stage with those purchasing tickets only finding out a week in advance.
Founders Scott Martin and Darroch Ramsay have now unveiled some snippets of information. “While we’ve decided to keep most of the goings-on a mystery until the night, we’re happy to announce that the renowned MoonHop DJ’s will perform an eclectic mix from their catalogue,” Scott said.
“As with the Whisky Stramash, we’re all about challenging perceptions and this event will do just that. A lot of people are intimidated by whisky when they really needn’t be and we’re confident the drink offerings on the night will demonstrate that perfectly. Scotch is a great drink to share and we’re keen to encourage this social aspect.
“Guests can definitely expect various surprises at the event – it certainly won’t be your average Friday night out!”
The night will see whisky served up by event sponsors Aberfeldy and Dewars.
Jamie MacDonald, Bacardi Malts, added: “We’re confident we’ll have a drink to suit all tastes on the evening, even if you don’t see yourself as a whisky drinker. We’ll be serving up a selection of unusual but delicious cocktails including the Whisky Stramash Mules – Dewars infused with fresh raspberries, ginger beer and fresh lime – which has been developed especially for the occasion. The bar will also be serving up classics like The Penicillin, amongst others.”
Tickets for the secret Friday night event are available to purchase now from www.ticketweb.co.uk.
Whisky Stramash will then run the Saturday and Sunday sessions, as it has done for the past four years, on the 23rd and 24thMay. These experiential sessions are for whisky experts and novices alike and tickets are also available fromwww.ticketweb.co.uk.
