GlenAllachie Distillery closes its visitor centre

A Scots distillery has temporarily closed its visitor centre with the current Coronavirus pandemic.

The GlenAllachie visitor centre has temporarily closed immediate effect.

The distillery, which is located near Aberlour in the heart of the world-renowned Speyside region, was bought from Chivas by Billy Walker and his team in 2017.

A spokesman said: ‘The health and welfare of our visitors and staff is paramount, and although we have been taking every necessary measure, we feel this is the best option at this time. We will continue to assess the situation and keep you updated.

‘Our visitor centre team have contacted those who have pre-booked tours and we are happy to answer all other queries sent to info@glenallachie.com.

‘Production at the GlenAllachie Distillery is still in progress, however we have strict measures in place to ensure our production team follow hygiene instructions and keep safe distance from each other.

‘Team members who can work from home are doing so, and continue to plan exciting new product launches as well as working hard to create new content and opportunities to chat to our team online.

‘We thank you for your patience during this time of uncertainty and hope that our followers worldwide are all safe and well.’

The GlenAllachie were winners of the Distillery of the Year Award at the Scottish Whisky Awards.
