A seafood special to support Scotland’s fishermen

Gamba seafood restaurant is marking the end of the successful National Seafood Week by announcing a seafood charity dinner for Scotland’s fishing industry in their multi-award-winning restaurant at the end of this month.

Taking place on Wednesday, 30 October, the Seafood Week annual campaign has been encouraging the public to try more varieties of seafood, and Gamba has decided the support the heart of the industry by giving back to hardworking Scottish fishermen and their families.

Gamba, at 225A West George Street, Glasgow, has been fundraising quietly over the last few months in the restaurant and this one-off incredible dining experience will see all proceeds being donated to the Scottish Fishermen’s Mission.

Staff will kindly donate their time, and their suppliers, Corney and Barrow have donated wine and the Fish Brothers will provide ingredients to support the charity.

Derek Marshall said: ‘After 130 years of service, the Fishermen’s Mission holds the same strong traditions and proud heritage from their beginnings. A trait we admire and uphold here at Gamba and why we have chosen to celebrate the work they do.

‘All proceeds raised from the evening will go directly to the charity, helping provide practical, financial, spiritual and emotional care by the Scottish Fishermen’s Mission.”

Guests to the evening will enjoy canapés on arrival and a glass of Cecelia Beretta Prosecco, followed by House Cured Sea Trout with bourbon, maple & lime, Crab & Apple Salad.

On to a delicious main of roast stone bass with crushed potato, fennel, red pepper, chopped scallop, smoked caviar cream. With chocolate Creméux to finish, served with passion fruit sorbet, Amarena cherries, and a chocolate crumb. If you’ve any room left, coffee will be served with their homemade whisky tablet.
