Distillers’ global travel operation given a boost

Ian Macleod Distillers has appointed Mark Robinson as business development manager, reflecting an increased strategic focus on the company’s Global Travel Retail business.

Robinson, who started on 1 May ahead of TFWA Singapore, spent 19 years with Imperial Tobacco and was latterly head of key accounts and customer marketing Global Duty Free. He will be responsible for Southern and Western Europe (excluding Dufry), Middle East and Africa and will also be the channel lead for airlines and cruiselines.

He joins the team led by GTR director, William Ovens and will work alongside the BDM for North, Central and Eastern Europe, Lars Bruns, activation executive, Sarah Tounsi, Commercial Coordinator, Gwen Fleming and training and admin support, Katie Burns.

William Ovens said: ‘I am delighted to welcome Mark to the team, his considerable experience of the channel will be of great use to us as our GTR business moves on to an exciting new stage of its development.’
