Scots firm in the running at fragrance industry Oscars

A Scottish firm has been nominated for an award in the Oscars of the fragrance industry.

Kingdom Scotland is a finalist in the 2019 Fragrance Foundation Awards, in contention for the Newcomer of the Year award.

The firm was set up by Imogen Russon-Taylor, who previously worked in the whisky industry, so knew that she had a well-trained sense of smell.

With Kingdom, she has been inspired by Scotland’s rich heritage and people.

Imogen said: ‘I am so delighted to be selected as a finalist at the 2019 Fragrance Foundation Awards from over 450 entries.

‘The awards were set up in 1993 and recognise excellence in the fragrance arena. I am so exciting to be flying the flag for Scotland and new British luxury brands.

‘We will be in the company of fragrant greats – Chanel, Tom Ford, Diptyque, Roja Parfums, Jo Malone and Dior – and in the same category with innovative new creatives such as – Map of the Heart, Charabanc and Stories by Eliza Grace.

‘Just being a finalist is such an accolade but keep your fingers crossed for Kingdom Scotland when the award final takes place in London.’

The awards take place at The Brewery in the City of London next week and will be hosted by Andrea McLean.

The red carpet event is attended by over 500 industry guests and celebrities and media.
