When Edinburgh- based knitwear designer Rosie Sugden launched her luxury cashmere brand in 2011 she was certainly following in the family footsteps.
Her father and grandparents all made their careers in the Scottish cashmere industry and her brother, along with his wife, now runs the iconic Scottish country wear store Campbells of Beauly.
Rosie, a graduate in knitwear design, took the leap and launched her own line following time spent interning with Christopher Kane.
The leap of faith paid off with her brand quickly gaining loyal followers and top fashion magazines regularly featuring her designs in their winter style guides.
Her range of cashmere accessories is stocked in several high-end shops, most recently in Bloomingdales department store in New York, and she has designed exclusive collections for top stores such as Harrods, Liberty and Net-a-Porter.
Rosie runs her business and creates her designs from her base in Edinburgh before products are manufactured at a mill near Hawick, in the Borders.
The philosophy of her brand is to create long-lasting products designed to be cherished for a lifetime as opposed to the ‘buy cheap and often’ mentality of the British high street.
With winter just around the corner, there’s no better time to splash your cash and indulge in a luxury accessory.
