Exhibition celebrates national treasure John Byrne

A 30-year portfolio of John Byrne is being staged in Edinburgh this month.

Dear John, by David Eustace, is an exhibition that brings together two outstanding talents: national treasure, the artist, writer and playwright John Byrne, and the internationally acclaimed photographic artist David Eustace, at the Scottish Gallery.

Sir Angus Grossart, former chairman of the National Galleries of Scotland and former chairman of the National Museums of Scotland, said: ‘David observes over 30 years of John’s evolving appearance with acute sensitivity and wit.

‘Each photograph is a chronicle of the time and the man, which has a universality and humanity to which we can all relate.’

The 12 Dear John portraits will be compiled in a limited-edition portfolio. A number of individual prints will also be available.

Dear John runs from 4-28 March at the Scottish Gallery, 16 Dundas Street, Edinburgh, EH3 6HZ. For further details visit HERE.
