Naomi’s free Fringe show will make a big impression

Rising star Naomi McDonald is set to make a big impression at the Fringe this summer.

Naomi will be giving her take on Melania Trump, and audiences will find out what may have happened if the American First Lady loved Scotland so much that she refused to fly home to the White House – and is joining Naomi onstage at the Fringe to spill the beans about life with Donald.

And she’s not the only one who will be taking part in Stardumb, a free fringe show at Arch III, The Fireside from 2-14 August.

Cheryl Tweedy will be tagging along as she’s single and ready for an Ed Fringe mingle in search of a new hubby. Any offers? Meanwhile Ellie Goulding will be singing about her quest to track down some decent vegan haggis.

McDonald recently featured on Radio 2’s Celebrity Lip Service, which showcased a handpicked selection of Britain’s hottest up-and-coming comedy talent.

An impressionist, comedian and singer her Stardumb show sees her smashing down the dressing room doors and rounding up a roomful of stars.

It reveals the secret lives and longings of famous names including Katie Price, Drew Barrymore, Kim Kardashian, Cheryl Cole, Janet Street Porter and Fearne Cotton. Nigella Lawson defrosts meals in her bathtub and Adele croons to a custard cream.

Naomi said: ‘All the big names will be there, even the ones we’ve tried to forget – sorry Jodie Marsh and Katie Hopkins… You’re gonna get a lot more tea than the Daily Mail could ever spill. And after seeing how much the crowds adored Donald Trump when he was there, I know that Melania is particularly pleased to be joining me at the Fringe – just feel the love!’

Rory Bremner has praised Naomi’s ‘brilliant impressions’, Chris Barrie says her ‘great voices really, really make me laugh’ while Terry Mynott dubbed her a ‘tour de force’.

Part of the sell out Newsrevue 2016 team, Naomi returns to Edinburgh with a debut solo show bursting with sketches and songs.

Learning to sing before she could walk, and striding onto the professional comedy circuit at the age of 11, the impressionist, stand-up, actor, singer and voiceover artist is familiar to millions of viewers on Sky, Capital FM, CBeebies, Cartoon Network. Praise for her work includes the Theatre Bubble review of Newsrevue 2016 which described Naomi’s star turn as Melania Trump as ‘a particular stand out.’
