The Artie Conan Doyle Mysteries: The Vanishing Dragon

Sherlock Holmes has undergone something of a revival over recent times.

In addition to two popular films starring Robert Downey Junior as the Great Detective, two modern day Sherlock Holmes series have been created, Sherlock in the UK with Benedict Cumberbatch, and Elementary in the USA, with Johnny Lee Miller.

It should therefore come as no surprise to learn that the character is also undergoing a literary revival too, and Holmes’ creator, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, features in a new series of fun books for youngsters.

The Vanishing Dragon is the second book in this series for children, as Robert J. Harris explores what Arthur Conan Coyle, may have been like as an inquisitive child.

In his latest adventure, 12-year-old schoolboy Artie and his sidekick Ham travel around 18th century Edinburgh investigating the suspicious happenings of a world-famous magician.

For parents out there who are avid Sherlock Holmes fans, this book offers a way for the magic to live on.

The Artie Conan Doyle Mysteries: The Vanishing Dragon, by Robert J Harris, published by Kelpies, £6.99.
