Liz Lochhead, King Creosote and Shelagh McDonald are among the big names getting ready for the fifth Solas Festival, which takes place at The Bield at Blackruthven, in Perthshire, this weekend.
This year’s theme is ‘Creative Commons’, which is designed to celebrate the best cultural activities from around the Commonwealth and beyond, as well as considering Scotland’s identity and place in this wider world ahead of September’s independence referendum.
The festival kicks off on Friday, with King Creosote headlining the evening’s entertainment.
The weekend continues with a mix of music, performing arts, talks and a young people’s programme of events.
