Book Reviews

Book Reviews Here at Scottish Field magazine we love books. Every issue we feature the best new releases on our 'Cover to Cover' pages and you also have the chance to win a copy of all of the books featured that month. We know reading is a favourite pastime for many of you so we have started an online book review section. You can add your comments about the books already featured here by logging into the site then clicking on 'more comments' under the book you want to talk about. Or, if you would like to add your own review of a book - old or new - simply click on the words 'Add your review' under this introduction. Again you will need to be logged onto this site. On the screen that comes up choose 'books' in the selection box and away you go - it's easy. Don't worry if you don't have an image of the front cover, one of our team will add one for you.

"The Real Global Warming Disaster" by Christopher Booker RRP: It is difficult to get an overall view on this important subject, but this book does just that and puts everything into perspective. It reads as a complex detective story full of drama with plenty of skullduggery involving politicians, scientists and the media. The book is packed with dynamite ,especially for our politicians.   More comments click here

THE ISLAND OF WHISPERS by Brendan Gisby RRP: BLACK LEAF PUBLISHING, PAPERBACK, 8.99   Latest posted comment: twistedfoot - Review by Marlene Lewis: "An exciting and thoroughly entertaining book which had me engrossed from beginning to end. The author brings to life a colony of rats in such a remarkable way as to have me totally believing in them. He conjures up a variety of emotions which kept me turning page after page as I followed the journey of the main ‘character’ throughout a series of exciting and frightening adventures. Sometimes scary, sometimes grizzly and sometimes heartbreaking, this is a memorable book, and one I would recommend to anyone."More comments click here
