The winners of ‘The Referendum Rant’ poetry competition have been announced as Scots prepare to go to the polls tomorrow.
More than 100 entrants submitted nearly 130 poems to the contest, with most of the works coming from Scotland but some also arriving from England and as far away as New Zealand.
First prize went to Hugh McMillan for Another Day in South West Scotland, with Fiona Dorchester taking second prize for Resolved to meet some other day and James King walking off with third prize for Free-men stand or Free-men fa’.

An e-book with all contributions illustrated with cartoons will be available shortly, with all proceeds going to the Soldiers’, Sailors’ & Airmen’s Families Association (SSAFA).
