Sail Away

Glorious sunsets, tranquil anchorages, spectacular beaches; the west coast can offer even the most novice sailor an idyllic experience of life on the ocean wave.

The west coast of Scotland offers some of the finest sailing in the world. Not a glib statement but a testament to the endless opportunities to discover a fabulous fjord-like coastline with magical islands offshore, many of which are uninhabited.

advantage of west coast waters – Tarbert’s Bell Lawrie Scottish Series and Tennant’s West Highland Yachting Week are two of the biggest sailing events in the United Kingdom. Added to this there are scores of local regattas, open to all to take part in.

Quite simply the range of sailing areas is vast. And the beauty of west coast sailing is that you can sail for just a few hours, a day or for as long as you like. Indeed the west coast weather is as famous as the sailing and can be very changeable but this is an experience in itself. What can start off as a wet and windy
