Situated in the hills of Upper Annandale the town of Moffat is surrounded by stunning scenery and enjoys the quali-ties of fresh air and tranquillity that are envied by many who visit it.
Thanks to its history as a coaching stop and spa town, it is spacious – claiming to have the broadest street in Scotland – and possesses an unusual level of facilities and independent businesses for a community of its size.
The discovery of ‘The Moffat Well’, said to be around 1659, reformed the town and visitors came from afar to be cured of their ailments by its healing waters.
