Well done Anthony. We must do all we can to encourage the youngsters and in the WAA we ran a taster event last year for the kids and hope to do the same again this year. Have to say we were not inundated with subscribers but managed to get 12 boys and girls. One problem we are highlighting before the start of this season is a “demand” from one of our riparian owners to stipulate dry fly only which to my mind does not help us get kids involved and as you will see from our blog responses is a “no fishing” ploy in another guise. Good luck with your own development.

I really enjoyed this piece by Mr Glasgow, as he manages to bring the past right up to date and show that although evrything changes, everything remains the same. I am not a fisherman (although would like to learn) but I this article. Thanks.

Terrific writing as always. Makes me want to don my waders and venture north west…..though mine would be old Hunter waders, none of these modern contraptions!
