Photography competition
Scottish Field and National Museums Scotland have teamed up for a photography competition to mark a new exhibition at the National Museum of Scotland, from 15 October – 3 April 2011.

Shining Lights: The Story of Scotland’s Lighthouses, tells the story of Scotland’s dangerously jagged 6,200-mile coastline, and of the people who designed, built and operated Scotland’s lighthouses, recognising the 200th anniversary of the lighting of the world’s oldest rock lighthouse, the Bell Rock near Arbroath, in 2011.

The best photograph of a Scottish lighthouse will receive £500 (or a lighthouse stay to that value) and have their photo published in the March 2011 issue of Scottish Field. Two runners-up will each receive £250. The best 12 photographs will be published in a special feature on our website after the competition closes on 15 January 2011.

Mark all entries ‘Lighthouse Competition’ and email to moragt@scottishfield.co.uk or send to: Scottish Field Lighthouse Competition, Craigcrook Castle, Craigcrook Rd, Edinburgh EH4 3PE. Usual SF rules apply. For more information, see www.nms.ac.uk
