Autumn will see the release of two new products from Douglas Laing & Co – BIG PEAT and DOUBLE BARREL
BIG PEAT!
BIG PEAT is a small batch, big, Islay Blended /”Vatted” Malt that includes amongst others Ardbeg, Bowmore, Caol Ila and Port Ellen in each bottle.
BIG PEAT is full of ashy, beachy, phenolic character just like the Island of Islay itself, from where the Laing family Directors hail.
Ally these lusty and robust Malts to the fact that they are bottled in the old fashioned and traditional way without chill filtration, and you will detect a massive amplification of the traditional sea-faring qualities on the nose, palate and finish. BIG PEAT, the name says it all.
Fred Laing commented, 'This is an ever so slight deviation for us with a fun and quirky bit of packaging to appeal to a younger market but one demanding a really seriously peated Malt, backed with some great credentials.'
DOUBLE BARREL
For those who demand the best of both worlds, Douglas Laing introduces its DOUBLE BARREL. It is a marriage of two intriguingly contrasting malt whiskies – selected and bottled only from single Barrels.
With an initial pairing of Macallan and Laphroaig in the first release, more pairings are now offered such as Ardbeg & Glenrothes and Bowmore & Highland Park.
DOUBLE BARREL is bottled in the old fashioned and traditional way without chill filtration and at natural colour.
Stewart Laing, Director, said, 'These Malts are already well received in foreign markets and we anticipate the same positive reactions from our UK customers when it is available from early autumn in specialist liquor shops.'
