The Horseshoe Inn at Eddleston , near Peebles in the Scottish Borders is celebrating having been awarded the prestigious Gold Eat Scotland Award.
Following a visit by one of Eat Scotland’s representatives earlier this month, The Horseshoe Inn met the organisation’s standards at an outstanding level for hospitality and service from staff as well as the appearance, quality, balance, flavour and use of fresh ingredients in the dishes.
Chef director, Patrick Bardoulet’s variety of seasonal dishes, canapés/petit fours, choice of homemade breads and quality of sauces/accompaniments, all exceeded the Eat Scotland entry standard. Vivienne Bardoulet, managing director of the Horseshoe Inn said, 'We are delighted to be one of only eight restaurants in Scotland and the first establishment in the south of Scotland to receive such an esteemed award.'
The Horseshoe Inn, a former blacksmith’s shop was refurbished in 2005 by Patrick and Vivienne Bardoulet. Bardoulet’s Restaurant, and has won 3 AA Rosettes and was AA Restaurant of the Year 2008 for Scotland and Northern Ireland.
